Toch fijn dat ze eerst voor een beperkte tijd in de bioscoop laten draaien en daarna achter een betaalmuur wordt gedropd.
Ik denk dat het helpt als je liefhebber en kenner van zijn films bent, want ik zag genoeg momenten waarop hij in zekere zin daar op begon te reflecteren. De grote voordeel van een grote streamingdienst dat zelfs een Disney+ wel aankan.
Geen superhelden, geen franchise, geen remake, geen sequel, geen reboot & geen Steven Seagull. It's the ultimate fusing of Scorsese's two sides... And even though it takes a while to get there, the movie is a masterpiece, one made by a man counting down his own years as if they were rosary beads. It didn't take a genius to see that television was finally poised to win the war against movies.

Gaat dit zien in de bioscoop. Wat mij betreft een doodsaaie film, simpele verhaallijn en duurt veel te lang. "The Irishman" moves slowly and pensively, invests in the natural rhythm of conversations and stops to smell the roses. The Irishman is Scorsese working with what he knows best to express a new level of maturity, ruminating on the significance of legacy and what it means to live with the decisions that you have made along the way.

You're almost there! Voor de rest vond ik het een ongelooflijk saaie en lange zit eigenlijk.... geen film die ik nog eens zou gaan kijken.... qua verhaal was het niks bijzonders eigenlijk.... vond ik.
Starring Robert De Niro, Al Pacino, Joe Pesci, and Harvey Keitel, the cast is especially strong and gives solid performances. Waar ik me enigszins aan stoorde waren niet zozeer de "CGI-gezichten", maar meer het feit dat je kunt zien aan de manier van bewegen etc.

Een meeslepend maffia-epos met Robert De Niro en Al Pacino, die ook nog even een digitale verjongingskuur ondergaan. Una ragazza americana di origini indiane esplora la storia della propria famiglia con l'aiuto di una pashmina magica. Zoals b.v. Godzilla: King of Monsters, of Matrix Reloaded/Revolutions. Afgelopen woensdag in chasse Breda geweest en kwam tot de conclusie dat er door het gros van de bezoekers hetzelfde over werd gedacht. Maar het eenvoudige publiek (dat vooral bestaat uit millennials en Gen Z mensjes) weten niks anders beters dat films veelal bestaat uit de computer.
Gelukkig dat filmjaar 2019 toch nog iets moois erbij krijgt. Anna Paquin heeft heel weinig tekst.
